Suffolk Libraries is inviting people with lived experience of the menopause to share their story for our new My Menopause blog.
The blog is part of our Menopause & Me project which was launched earlier this year in partnership with Suffolk Mind, with funding by the Department of Health and Social Care.
We’d welcome anyone with lived experience of the menopause or menopause-friendly employers to write online content for us to share with others, including but not limited to:
Anyone interested in being a guest blogger can register using our online form, where a member of our team will be in contact to discuss what you’d like to write about.
By sharing these stories, together we can stamp out the stigma around the menopause and help everyone feel supported. We’d love to hear from you!
We already have a number of blogs available to read on our website, including from Anna Clayton, Director of Bury Physiotherapy Clinic, Debs Crelly, Health and Wellbeing Lead for SNEEICS, and members of Suffolk Libraries staff.
Bethany Fisher, Menopause & Me Project Lead, said:
“These blogs offer a great insight into the effects of the menopause and how everyone’s experience is different. There’s so much people don’t know about the menopause, and so it’s beneficial to hear from real people who have gone through it already and are reflecting on the realities of what it’s like.
“We’re grateful to everyone who has written a My Menopause blog so far, and we’re looking forward to hearing from others in and around Suffolk!”
Please note that we cannot offer medical advice and we ask that your blog be only reflective of your personal experiences with the menopause. The information on this website is not intended to replace that of a medical professional. It is always recommended you seek advice from a GP or medical professional.
