Warm Welcome: Support in our Libraries

Find out how Suffolk Libraries can help this winter

Find out what support is available to you at your local library this winter

All of our libraries operate as warm spaces all year round. Anyone is welcome to visit our spaces to relax, meet up with friends, or have some quiet time to yourself. Our warm spaces are available any time during opening hours. There's no expectation for you to join in with events or use our facilities, although these are freely available.

Our current services include:

We also have a dedicated health and wellbeing service, offering mental health drop-ins, self-help books, dementia support, and lots of other resources.

This winter, we’ve brought in more initiatives to help combat the cost of living crisis in Suffolk. Throughout the colder months, many of our libraries will be offering the following items, free of charge:

  • Hot drinks such as tea, coffee and hot chocolate
  • Cuppa Soup and Pot Noodles
  • Cereal bars
  • Hygiene items such as toothpaste, shower gel and shampoo
  • Kindness racks for warm clothes such as coats, hats and scarves.

Different services will be available at different libraries depending on space and staff capacity. We advise you to contact your local library to see what support will be available to you.

If you don't have a library located near you, the Rural Coffee Caravan has created a map of warm spaces available across Suffolk. Suffolk County Council also has a helpful page of resources on their website.
