Warm Welcome: How You Can Help
Find out how you can get involved to help support your community this winter, such as donating food items and knitting warm jumpers
We need your help to support the most vulnerable people in our communities this winter
We’re here to support the people of Suffolk the best we can, but we need your help to keep our new initiatives going over the winter months. You can support us by making a donation to help us continue to run our vital services, or you can get involved in more personal ways by helping your local library directly.
As each library will be offering different support services, we invite you to speak with your local library manager and ask how you can best help them.

Donating essential items
You can help by donating essential items, such as:
- Tea, coffee and other food items
- Toiletries and personal care packages
- Warm winter clothes in good condition, such as coats, jumpers, hats, scarves and blankets
- Knitting materials, such as yarn and needles
- Baby items, such as clothes, toys and nappies
- Basic school supplies for young children
Everything we receive in donations will go directly to the people in the community who need support. Please speak with your local library to find out what items they are in need of.
Support us by volunteering

Donations and fundraising
Make a direct donation
Suffolk Libraries is a charity. Donating £5 could supply hot drinks and biscuits, donating £10 could supply art and craft materials for activities, and donating £20 could supply one hour of staffed activity.
You can make a one-off donation or set up regular direct payments. Find out more about how your donations help.
Fundraise for us
Our libraries sit at the heart of your community, but we need your help to maintain the vital services that support some of the most vulnerable people in Suffolk.
Whether you want to walk, run, cycle, stream video games or sit in a bath of beans, there is a fundraising challenge for you to help raise money and support the important work we do for communities around Suffolk.
