Suffolk Libraries is committed to digital inclusion. We aim to do this in a number of ways, including:
- Ensuring our staff provide friendly and knowledgeable support to our visitors
- Providing free WiFi in all of our libraries, as well as a number of internet-connected computers free for public use (with a library card)
- Working with local statutory and voluntary organisations to provide additional support to those wanting to learn more about how to use their devices and the internet
- The loan of devices including laptops and tablets for home use by customers
- The delivery of free data via SIM cards and data vouchers (currently Stowmarket only).
For more information about the support we offer, see below.
Learn My Way
Learn My Way offers free online training on getting online and staying safe. When registering, select ‘being supported by an online centre’ and when prompted, type ‘Suffolk Libraries’.
In-person support
Many of our libraries offer regular sessions providing support for getting online and using devices. To find a session in your area, check our What's On page.
If you’ve got the skills and passion for teaching others to get online and are interested in volunteering in one of our libraries, visit our volunteer roles page.
Devices and data
If you are in the Mid Suffolk or Babergh area, your local library might have iPads available to loan. Contact your local library to find out more.
Additionally, Stowmarket Library is now proudly delivering the National Databank, supported by Good Things Foundation. If you need support with mobile data, they can provide you with a SIM card with up to 12 months of free data as well as free calls and texts. Contact Stowmarket Library on 01449 700549 to find out more or make an appointment.
