Suffolk Libraries is inviting Suffolk’s small and medium sized businesses to take part in a consultation to help to identify how to better support employees with their wellbeing.

Supporting wellbeing and promoting good mental health is a huge part of Suffolk Libraries work in the community and it’s the only library service in the country with a dedicated wellbeing team.

Suffolk Libraries has already been working closely with several local businesses on the Department for Health and Social Care funded Menopause & Me project.

This consultation aims to understand how Suffolk’s SMEs currently support their staff wellbeing, what’s working well, what more can be done and what might be stopping businesses and their staff accessing wellbeing support.

The plan is to also identify existing workplace wellbeing support including the training and resources available in Suffolk and any gaps which might exist. Ultimately Suffolk Libraries wants to look at how it can help SME’s to provide wellbeing support to their staff and signpost them to resources that can help. Suffolk Libraries can also share learning from its approach to supporting staff wellbeing and its other wellbeing programmes.

An online focus group will be taking place on Thursday 16 November from 10.30AM to 12PM to inform the consultation. For anyone who can’t make this time but is still keen to take part, you can book a 30-minute chat with Cohere Arts who are supporting this project.

If you can take part your input would be greatly valued and your business and your staff could ultimately benefit too. If you would like to book a place on the focus group or would like more information please contact Suffolk Libraries, Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Manager, Jane Cox at Jane.cox@suffolklibraries.co.uk.

To arrange a separate 30-minute interview you can email Amy Mallett at Cohere Arts directly at amy@coherearts.org.

There is also a survey which local employers are being encouraged to fill in. This only take a few minutes and can be completed via www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/VS7R3NQ.
