Two new state of the art SiSu health stations are now available for customers of Gainsborough Community Library and Haverhill Library.

The new machines give people access to instant health measurements including blood pressure, heart rate, body fat percentage and body mass index, height, weight, perceived stress levels and diabetes risk.

The machines have been provided by Suffolk’s Integrated Care Board and will initially be based at the two libraries with the potential to move to other libraries in the future.

Krystal Vittles, Deputy CEO of Suffolk Libraries, said:

"We're really excited to be able to offer this new facility in two of our libraries. Our new Moving Minds programme is all about helping people with their physical health as this can have a positive affect on your mental health too. It's great for people to make the first step in taking control of their own health and wellbeing and everyone is welcome to come in and give the machines a go.”

The machines are free and simple to use and the aim is to show people the benefits of having an up-to-date assessment of your health.

The machines are being provided to support Suffolk Libraries’ wellbeing offer and our new Moving Minds programme which has received Arts Council England funding to provide free fitness activities and loanable fitness equipment from libraries.
