Glemsford Library is working with a local motorbike venue to host a fundraising bike show for Suffolk Libraries.
The White Horse Custom & Classic Charity Bike Show will take place on Sunday 7 April from 10AM at TTT Motorcycle Village in Sudbury, CO10 7HJ. Entry is £3 per person and under 16s get in for free.
The event will have trophies for the Best Custom, Best British, Best Vintage Japanese bikes and other categories. There’ll also be a raffle for the chance to win prizes, live music with local bands, food and drinks and lots more.
For more details or to enter your bike into the show, contact whitehorsecustomclassicshow@btinternet.com.
The event is part of Suffolk Libraries Day activities which took place in late March with all funds raised helping to support Suffolk Libraries Day and the vital work our libraries do for communities across Suffolk.
Sue Baker, Manager at Glemsford Library, is helping to organise the event and is also a keen motorcyclist. Sue said:
“We are always looking for new ways to spread the word about the great work that Suffolk Libraries does within our communities. In the past, as well as the usual author visits and quiz nights, Glemsford Library has organised mini Comic Cons, Star Wars days, virtual reality days, Tudor tavern nights, and more. We have also hosted international bands, African dance nights and even organised a riot! So it was easy to say yes when I was asked to help the White Horse Custom and Classic Bike Show team organise a charity motorcycle show with profits going to Suffolk Libraries.
“Bikers are very community-oriented and regularly run fundraisers for local causes. We’re thrilled to be working alongside the White Horse team to platform the work our libraries do for communities across Suffolk, and it will be a great day out for everyone involved”.
The White Horse bike show started back in the 80s by a local group who frequented the White Horse pub in Edwardstone, and the show ran for many years and was well-supported by the local biker community.
This upcoming charity bike show is dedicated to Julian, the pub landlord’s son, who sadly passed away a number of years ago, and has been organised by the original members of the White Horse motorcycle club.
A memorial metal daisy art sculpture from our Make a Difference With a Daisy campaign will be on display as a thank you to the biker community for their support, and in honour of Julian’s memory and other members of the biker community who have passed away.
The TTT Motorcycle Village is home to a huge showroom of new and classic bikes, including classic Yamahas and a special edition Ducati 916 Carbon, as well as a classic Lotus Esprit and a Ferrari. The Motorcycle Village regularly hosts meet-ups for local bikers with a café onsite.
