Following a successful summer in its new home in St Catherine’s Church, Long Melford Library is continuing with its extended Saturday opening hours.
The library moved to St Catherine’s Church in May after being closed for several months following the closure of its old location at the British Royal Legion.
At the start of the summer, Long Melford Library announced it would be opening on Saturdays from 9AM to 1PM to allow more children to complete this year’s Summer Reading Challenge. After extensive talks with the Church and positive feedback from local customers, Long Melford Library is thrilled to announce that the Saturday hours are here to stay.
Nick Castell, manager at Long Melford Library, said:
“We'd like to take the opportunity to thank everybody at St. Catherine's for making us so welcome and supporting us so constructively in serving the community in Long Melford. Saturdays proved very busy and popular over the summer holidays particularly with families and we are delighted to be able to continue to offer Family Crafts and Lego Club!”
There may be a few occasions across the year when the Church will require use of the building on a Saturday, however the library will ensure its customers are notified with plenty of time to avoid any inconvenience.
