Let's Get Creative

Suffolk Libraries, the charity that runs Suffolk’s library service, has launched a new web directory to showcase all the exciting free and low-cost events, activities and experiences on offer across the county.

The new Let’s Get Creative website is supported by Arts Council England. The project has been developed in collaboration with Suffolk County Council, Britten Pears Arts, CPP MarketPlace, DanceEast, Norfolk & Norwich Festival Bridge and Suffolk Artlink plus many more local organisations who have got behind the project.

The new website was inspired by a similar idea during lockdown when Suffolk Libraries worked with the local art sector to highlight online arts activities people could enjoy. The popularity of this prompted a bid to the Arts Council to fund a new website for Suffolk to provide people with an easy way to discover arts activity happening on their doorstep.

Georgie Quinn, Let’s Get Creative Project Manager at Suffolk Libraries, said:

“We hope that the new Let’s Get Creative website will be a really useful resource for anyone living in and around Suffolk, not just for our staff and customers. Our aim is to open up enjoyable activities and experiences to even more people and show everyone how fantastic and accessible the local arts scene is.

"Whether you’re looking for a family-friendly activity for a school holiday or a way to meet new people, you can be sure to find something that suits you.”

Lorna O'Brien from CPP MarketPlace added:

“The MarketPlace team are very pleased to be working with Suffolk Libraries and cultural partners across Suffolk on the Let's Get Creative project. Libraries are so valuable to local communities and we hope that greater access, through the website and library teams, to the cultural opportunities available locally will encourage more people to engage with arts and culture and feel the benefits to their wellbeing that creative activity can bring.”

You can search by location or by categories such as ‘music’, ‘early years’ and ‘drama’ on the site to find free or low cost activities for all ages.
