Anyone looking for some local bargains is invited to take part in Glemsford Library’s sale trail this Sunday.
The Glemsford Sale Trail takes place on Sunday 27 May from 10AM to 2PM. It’s a fun way of exploring the village, grabbing a bargain and also raising money to support the library service. It will work like a yard sale that the covers the whole village of Glemsford. Residents have been invited to join the sale trail map and set out a stall outside their home.
Anyone wanting to add their stall to the map has paid £10 with all proceeds going to Suffolk Libraries. There will be a pop-up café at the library serving tea, coffee and cake. The library will also have a book sale and local crafts, art, cards etc for sale and a lucky dip for children.
Sale trail maps showing the location of the stalls, food, parking and toilets will be available to buy from 20 May for £1 and local shops and businesses. For more details contact glemsford.library@suffolklibraries.co.uk
There was a sale trail in Glemsford several years ago and the library manager Sue Baker resurrected the idea last year and it was very successful with over 50 households taking part.
Sue said:
“It is a real community event and tends to have a relaxed party atmosphere, as households decorate the fronts of their houses to make them stand out. Many people have said that they got to know neighbours or spoke toother Glemsford residents as they walked around which they would not have done otherwise. Many have discovered streets and parts of historic Glemsford that they didn't know existed.”
