Summer 2024 Impact
With over 1700 workshop bookings, the summer 2024 programme was our biggest yet, with 98% of young people saying they would attend future workshops.
Suffolk Libraries were chosen as a Holiday Activity Fund (HAF) provider by Suffolk County Council, with initial delivery over Easter 2023. As the independent charity that runs Suffolk’s library service, we nurture children’s literacy, support vulnerable people and promote wellbeing across the county and beyond. We chose to focus on the 10-16 age group, as this was identified as an area of need for HAF delivery across Suffolk, as well as an area of audience development for Suffolk Libraries.
With this in mind, The Blank Page Project was born. The title of the project invokes it’s key intention; for young people to have their very own ‘blank page’ to create from. To start again, express and try something new. Led by our Youth Activities Producer, we initially ran the project in five libraries over Easter 2023; Lowestoft, Stowmarket, Gainsborough, Chantry and Haverhill.
Since launched in March 2023, The Blank Page Project has since had 3,000 workshop bookings with an 89% attendance rate.
