Be Kind to a Kid Toy Appeal
Support our Christmas toy appeal by donating new toys to your local library and we’ll get them to children who need them
Help make Christmas extra special for Suffolk families
This Christmas, Suffolk Libraries is teaming up with BBC Radio Suffolk for a special toy appeal as part of our Warm Welcome cost-of-living support campaign.
All 45 of our libraries are accepting toy donations to pass on to children who’d appreciate an extra present this Christmas. We are working with local charities and organisations to ensure these toys reach the families who really need them.
Last year, we collected nearly 2,500 toys for local children. Please help make our toy appeal even bigger this year and spread festive joy to more Suffolk children and families.
What kind of toys can you donate?
We can only accept new toys which have not been hand-made or hand-knitted for health and safety reasons. You can bring your donations to any of our libraries.
- New toys only
- Toys suitable for any age between 0-12 years old
- Gender neutral toys would be useful to ensure we have a broad mix for everyone
- Ideally toys which would fit in a shoebox or bag
- Toys that don't require batteries or a subscription
- Suggested cost per toy between £5 and £10 so everyone gets something of roughly the same value.
You can find opening times for all our libraries on our website. Please note that our mobile libraries and pop-up libraries will not be able to accept toys due to reduced storage space.
For any questions about our Be Kind to a Kid toy appeal, please email Toys.appeal@suffolklibraries.co.uk.
You can support the wider Warm Welcome campaign and the work of Suffolk Libraries by making an online donation to help us continue to run our vital services which help communities across the county.
