You can book onto as many workshops as you'd like – all workshops are designed to offer something different.
Blank Page workshops are free for young people eligible for benefit-related free school meals. There are also a limited number of places per workshop priced at £15 each for young people that are not eligible for benefit-related free school meals. This includes lunch, drinks and snacks. You can check on the gov.uk website to see if you’re eligible for free school meals.
Blank Page was launched in March 2023 and is funded by the Department for Education’s Holiday Activity Fund. The Blank Page Project provides enriching and engaging activities in libraries during the school holidays.
Since launching, 3,000 young people have booked onto at least one of 200 workshops with amazing feedback from young people and their parents.
The workshops have not only helped to build confidence in young people and enabled them to try new things, but have also proved a great way to get young people more engaged in their local libraries.
You can read our impact reports to find out more and read more about the success of the summer programme.
Katie Puls, Youth Activities Producer for Suffolk Libraries and coordinator for the programme says:
“It’s very exciting we were able to secure further funding for this vital project to support local families and engage teenagers in our libraries. Blank Page has brought many benefits to young people including encouraging socialising, making new friends and easing symptoms of anxiety, alongside providing valuable opportunities to gain skills and help with future career choices.”
