Suffolk Libraries and Suffolk Building Society have partnered up to provide library customers with free reusable water bottles.
1,000 of the Love Your Library branded bottles have been distributed to all libraries with a nearby branch of Suffolk Building Society. In keeping with the Society’s environmental commitments, the water bottles are made in the UK from 100% reclaimed plastic milk bottles.
The bottles will be made available to people who come along to regular library activities in the next few weeks on a first come first served basis. The bottles will be available from the following libraries:
The idea came from a discussion at Bury St Edmunds Library about helping to hydrate people who take part in the library’s regular Drop-in & Dance session.
Tracey Paris, Bury St Edmunds Library Manager, said:
“Everyone needs to drink more water, whether they’ve been dancing in the library or going about their daily life! These new Love Your Library water bottles are fantastic and we’re very grateful to Suffolk Building Society for providing them. They help to promote Suffolk Libraries and are a more sustainable way of staying hydrated than buying bottled water. We hope people across Suffolk will reuse them many times to keep themselves topped up!”
Nathan Wade, Head of Membership at Suffolk Building Society, added:
“Like Suffolk Libraries, we share a strong purpose to be there for communities across Suffolk. Our branches are just around the corner from local libraries, in town centres, villages and neighbourhoods. We’re thrilled to support the charity with this initiative, collaborating to help keep people connected and hydrated.
“The Society was also able to support Suffolk Libraries with its recent PAWS-itivity fundraising campaign. We were successful in our bid for one of the Library Labradors ‘Readador’, who now lives in our canine-friendly Woodbridge branch.”
Drop-in & Dance sessions for adults run at Bury St Edmunds Library every Wednesday from 10.30AM to 11.30AM. It’s a chance to let loose, have fun and dance to some of your favourite tunes. Everyone is welcome!
