Let's Get Creative

Suffolk Libraries is offering a programme of vibrant and creative ‘Launch Pad’ events this autumn to promote the newly relaunched Let’s Get Creative website.

Let’s Get Creative’ is an online directory of free and low-cost creative and cultural activities available across Suffolk - a ‘library of experiences’. The ambition of the website is to make it easy for to find free or very low-cost cultural activities taking place on their doorstep. The launch pad events will empower people experiencing financial difficulties to access and enjoy some free and fun local creative and cultural activities.

Eleanor Root, Cultural Partnerships Lead at Suffolk Libraries, said:

“Our ambition is for this website to be a one stop shop, with local cultural organisations, big and small, as well as dancers, artists, and others able to share their events easily and with a huge range of people.  As well as making it simple for people to find fun and free or low cost activities, the Let’s Get Creative website supports cultural organisations to welcome new audiences to their events and activities, which are often free but with limited marketing budget to reach people.

“We’re putting on a range of activities this half-term and into November, generously funded by Suffolk Supported Families. You can join us to explore an immersive fairytale land in Halesworth, turn vegetables into instruments in Haverhill, and make mini books in Felixstowe!”

The launchpad programme is generously funded with £8,000 from Suffolk Supported Families via Suffolk County Council and the Department of Work and Pensions.
