In accordance with section 54 (1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015, Suffolk Libraries makes the following statement regarding the steps it has taken in the financial year 2023/24 to ensure that no modern slavery or human trafficking is taking place in any part of the organisation or its supply chain.
Modern slavery in all its forms is a crime and Suffolk Libraries is committed to understanding potential modern slavery and human trafficking risks and to improving the systems and controls in place to combat them.
- Suffolk Libraries does not tolerate modern slavery or human trafficking in any part of its business or its supply chain.
- Suffolk Libraries does not enter into business with any organisation, in the UK or abroad, which knowingly supports or is found to be involved in slavery, servitude and forced or compulsory labour.
- In accordance with Section 52 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015, if Suffolk Libraries has reasonable grounds to believe that a person or persons may be a victim of slavery or human trafficking, it will notify the relevant authorities.
- Suffolk Libraries has policies in place which underpin its commitment to ensure no modern slavery within the organisation.
