Armed Forces Covenant pledge

Armed Forces Covenant - proudly supporting those who serve.

Suffolk Libraries commit to uphold the Armed Forces Covenant and support the Armed Forces Community. We recognise the contribution that Service personnel, both regular and reservist, veterans and military families make to our organisation, our community and to the country.

We recognise the contribution that Service personnel, reservists, veterans, the cadet movement and military families make to our organisation, our community and to the country. We will seek to uphold the principles of the Armed Forces Covenant by:

  • Promote the Armed Forces by an offer of hosting information and promotional materials (on recruitment and other initiatives) across our 45 libraries and other access points.
  • Provide employment support and information to veterans and service personnel through our network of 45 libraries, our digital and IT facilities and services and through out connections with wider local providers and support services.
  • Communicate, engage and reach military families at bases and stations across Suffolk with our core offer of resources, activities and support services.
  • Supporting the health and wellbeing of service personnel, reservists, veterans, the cadet movement and military families through promoting our wellbeing services directly to military institutions and communities across Suffolk.
  • Offer volunteering opportunities for service personnel, reservists, veterans, the cadet movement and army families.
  • Welcome and encourage applications for employment from members of the Armed Forces Community of Service Leavers/Veterans, Reservists, Cadet Instructors and Spouse/Partners.
