Join photographic artist Gillian Allard for this free creative workshop for 10-16 year olds! Take colourful festive photos then make digital edits before framing your creations. This workshop is part of The Blank Page Project.
Workshops take place from 9.45AM to 3.30PM and include a free lunch, drinks and snacks!
Our photography workshop will be in two parts. In part one, we will use the colour and sparkle of this festive time of year to make unusual ‘close-up’ photographs. We will digitally manipulate those photographs using Pixlr on the iPads to add more colour.
In part two, we will use projectors to superimpose our festive photos onto ourselves and our friends and photograph these combinations, to make photo-portraits that really pop! Each person will frame their favourite image and to take home as wall art.
If possible, please arrive in a light coloured t-shirt or top.
The wellbeing of our young people is really important to us and time outdoors is a key part of that. With this in mind, where possible a short walk or time outdoors will be incorporated into the workshop days. This will be supervised by the staff running the workshops and will also be weather dependent. Please ensure your child has a coat and sensible footwear!
Workshops are completely free to attend but must be booked in advance. You can book online via eequ.
If your booking is made within 72 hours of the workshop, we may not be able to accommodate specific dietary requirements. Please get in touch with the library location for the workshop to discuss options. Please note that whilst we welcome all young people, our staff are not specifically SEND trained.
This workshop is for 10-16 year olds only. If you feel your child requires additional support in the form of adult attendance in order to access this workshop, contact us by emailing katie.puls@suffolklibraries.co.uk.
