Drawing sound workshop with Carl Cole and Emma Denby

Gainsborough Community Library
Aug 15, 2024 9:45 AM

Join musician and sound artist Carl Cole with sculptor and painter Emma Denby for this free creative workshop for 10-16 year olds at Gainsborough Community Library, as part of The Blank Page Project! Explore the connection between visual art and music with this hands-on creative activity.

Workshops take place from 9.45AM to 3.30PM and include a free lunch, drinks and snacks!

The workshop will explore how art can be created in response to music and encourage participants to think about how a sound can "look", before looking at how we could interpret artwork by using sounds and music. After exploring this connection, we will look for inspiration within the library setting, using illustrations from books to inform what work we create, and thinking about the world beyond the picture. Participants will get to create their own canvas to bring a scene to life and display!

How to book

Workshops are completely free to attend but must be booked in advance. You can book online via eequ.

If your booking is made within 72 hours of the workshop, we may not be able to accommodate specific dietary requirements. Please get in touch with the library location for the workshop to discuss options. Please note that whilst we welcome all young people our staff are not specifically SEND trained.
