Pop Chorus are taking centre stage in Framlingham Library this Saturday (15 June) when the library will be filled with singing.
The library will be filled with the vibrant melodies of well-known local choir Pop Chorus who will be taking over the library as part of a fundraising summer fete to raise money for a new children’s library.
Pop Chorus is a feel-good adult contemporary choir, unashamedly singing pop songs in glorious multi-part harmony to professional backing tracks. The group have grown from humble beginnings with just eight singers in 2012 to over 450 singers across seven groups across Suffolk. They have even hit the singles charts, performed at Latitude and sung to sold out Ipswich Regent Theatre shows.
Pop Chorus will hopefully help to create a memorable day of music, games, and community support at the Summer Fete which will be running from 10AM to 2PM. Pop Chorus are performing at 11.30AM and 1PM and there will also be traditional summer fete games on offer at the library.
Anyone coming along is encouraged to make a donation to the library’s appeal to refurbish and revamp the children's reading area. Over £8,000 has already been raised and you can donate via the Justgiving Page.
Framlingham Library Manager Vivia Bamford said:
“At Suffolk Libraries we’re proud of the fact that our libraries are no longer silent and serious places – we have a huge range of activity taking place across the county and we have such a lot going on just here in Framlingham! This Saturday will be particularly special as the community comes together to help raise money for a brand-new children’s library space which local families will benefit from. We hope it’ll be a fantastic day at the library and everyone is welcome!”
